Triton College will be hosting an electronics and unwanted medication recycling event on Saturday, May 4th.

 

There will be two collection areas, one for electronics and one for medicines.  For more information, please call Triton College's Health Services Department at (708) 456-0300 ext. 3359, or the Sustainability Center at (708) 456-0300 ext. 3578.

 

Acceptable Medication Items
- Prescription medications
- Over-the counter medications
- Medicated ointments
- Medicated shampoos
- Liquids containing medications
- Prescription inhalers
- Over-the-counter inhalers
- Sharps/needles
- Glass thermometers containing mercury
- Medical devices containing mercury (blood pressure units, barometers, etc.)

 

Unacceptable Medication Items
- DEA-controlled substances, including narcotic medications and illegal drugs
- Biohazardous materials
- Radioactive materials
- Other household wastes

 

Electronic Recycling
Acceptable items include computers, peripherals, laptops, monitors, TVs, cell phones, rechargeable batteries, printers, fax machines, MP3 players, portable digital assistants, video game consoles, videocassette recorders/players, digital videodisk players, zip drives, scanners and microwaves.
